‘Love Songs Are Boring’ is the artists first indie/pop song, written about the cliches of love stories from film and literature. The overall composition of the song is made to create a beautiful love song while also being self-depreciating. LAY / BYE have recently launched in April 2024 and since achieved 2 previous releases ‘Active!’ and ‘How Does It Feel?’ alongside a debut live performance in Cambridge. With the sucess of the initial releases, a full promo & marketing campaign will be pushing the release of ‘Love Songs Are Boring <3’ to achive the next step of growth in the UK for LAY / BYE. Over the coming months, there will be a campaign to work towards an EP release and UK tour.

Inspired by Royal Blood, Paramore and Two Door Cinema Club, LAY / BYE are a 3 piece band from Cambridge consisting of James McGonigle, Christy Hoyles and Alex Brown. With wide influences, taking the best from decades gone by and effectively blending multiple genres, their new brand of Rock/Pop is setting a new vogue that is sure to last for years to come.
Having been locked away in a studio for the last year perfecting their craft, the band already has an impressive catalogue of catchy anthems waiting to grace the ears of their quickly growing fan base.
LAY / BYE, while young, are writing beyond their years and certainly have the experience to back it up. In separate projects these 3 have shared stages with The Vamps, Sophie Ellis Bextor and Rag n Bone Man to name a few and with this exciting new vision, are sure to make a household name for themselves. The birth of this new and exciting act already boasts an extensive performing experience drawing on the band’s previous projects. Having performed to crowds of over 2500, playing at festivals including The Great Escape and 110 Above, these men are not ones to shy away from putting on an aggressive and evocative live set. Featuring layers of alluring synths, combined with unforgettable melodies and rhythmic intricacies, the band sings about heartfelt issues surrounding the modern youth, touching on issues encountered in a variety of relationships. This is mirrored in the trio’s name: LAY / BYE, a comment on the way in which people enter into relationships in the 21st century.
